Dance Auditions

Hello and thank you for taking the time to create your audition for the Rush Arts Dancers! I am so excited to see your work and that you are interested in being a part of our amazing community at The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush Performing and Visual Arts High School! Below you will find instructions for submitting your online audition as well as my youtube link to my video introduction and instructions. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions email me at

    • You will need to create two videos that you will upload to Youtube then share the link in the google form at the bottom of this page
        • The first video will be of you dancing. You can submit any style that you feel best represents your talents as a dancer. Please make the video 2-3 minutes in length and set up your device so that I can see your whole body moving in the video. If you are using a cell phone set it up horizontally for a wider view. Hopefully, someone can record for you but if not you can prop up your device on a table or desk and move it until the distance and spacing works for your video. If you need to go outside to make this happen do it!!! Just be careful of unlevel ground. Please where proper dance attire in the video which includes, yoga pants, leotards, tights, fitted tank tops, dance shorts, your choice of dance shoe depending on the surface you are dancing on and pull your hair up enough so it does not distract the viewer from the dancing.
        • The second video will be the interview portion of the audition. Below I have listed 3 questions that I would like you to respond to in your video.

        1. Why are you interested in being a dance major at Rush Arts?

      1. 2. How did you hear about our program?
      2. 3. Have you taken dance classes in the past or present? If so, where did you study and what genres of dance did you learn. If you have not had formal classes how have you taught yourself or learned new styles of dance 4. What other talents and interests do you have and how do you see yourself applying those talents at our school?
