SPORTS at other schools?

PIAA rules permit a student to play sports at other schools on some occasions.  Here are the basic rules and a graphic.

All students must meet eligibility requirements and have specific permission forms signed, including a sports physical from a physician who is an authorized medical examiner.  Once they have all the forms, they may tryout / “audition” for a sport.

If the sport is offered at Rush, students may only try out at Rush

If the sport is not offered at Rush, there may be alternative options:

Intramural (In-House) Sports

Advisory Sports Club Sign up form

There are a number of Intramural (in-house) sports programs offered each year.  The most common examples are below:

Advisory Sports Clubs: Open to All Genders, All Grades, All Skill Levels. Each sport will have sign ups posted on Google Classroom and take place during seminar periods. Students may not miss a required club meeting (such as but not limited to “RF” or town halls. An intramurla form is required to participate (found on the athletic forms page). The Advisory Sports clubs include Basketball, Badminton, Indoor Soccer, 2 hand touch Football and Volleyball. Additional sports such as team hand ball, floor hockey and ultimate frisbee are offered some years

Pre-Season Open Gym.: Offered to all genders, all grades, all skill levels for a short time prior to “real” pre-season training happening for our varsity teams. Each team’s head coach sets their own schedule for this and practices are typically before or after school. The PIAA packets or intramural forms are able to be used for open gym but when the teams start to practice, only the PIAA forms are accepted

1 or 2 day Tournaments: Tournaments typically occur on 1/2 days during report card conferences or on 2 days during advisory in place of advisory sports clubs. Tournaments include Knock out, Foul Shooting contest, Indoor Soccer, 9 square in the air, Floor Hockey, Gaga, and Foam Dodge Ball
